How to compare a Romanian dental implant quote

A complete single-tooth implant quote should state whether the fixture, abutment and crown are included, plus any likely additions and visit stages. Photos can support a preliminary estimate; the treating dentist confirms suitability, treatment and the final price after examination and necessary imaging.

Dental implant with abutment and crown components

Public implant component examples

DP Dental's public price list shows these implant lines separately. It does not state that an abutment or crown is included, so the figures below are not presented as complete single-tooth totals.

Dentium 2,600 RON

Published implant line

Abutment and crown inclusion are not stated on the public list.

Oxy 2,800 RON

Published implant line

Abutment and crown inclusion are not stated on the public list.

Straumann 4,200 RON

Published implant line

Abutment and crown inclusion are not stated on the public list.

Source and method: figures are transcribed in RON from the DP Dental public price list, checked 27 August 2026. That page separately lists a zirconia crown at 2,000 RON, but it does not state whether that crown is implant-specific or whether an abutment is included. A complete total must therefore come from an itemised estimate after appropriate assessment.

AbutmentAsk whether the connector is included or priced separately.

Is an implant suitable for you?

Only a dentist who has assessed you can answer that. The assessment considers your gums, available bone, bite, medical history, medicines, smoking and the condition of the teeth beside the gap.

Photos and existing X-rays can support an initial review, but they do not replace the examination and imaging needed to confirm a surgical plan.

What may change the estimate?

Your written estimate covers the treatment visible from the information you send. The clinical examination may identify another need, including:

  • Extraction of a tooth or retained root
  • Bone grafting or a sinus lift
  • Treatment for gum disease or infection
  • A different restoration because of your bite or available space

How implant treatment usually works

The number and timing of appointments depend on your case. A single implant commonly involves a placement visit, a healing period at home and a later restoration visit.

01

Remote review

Send photos, X-rays and any existing treatment plan for an initial written estimate.

02

Clinical confirmation

The dentist examines you in Bucharest and uses any imaging needed to confirm the plan.

03

Implant placement

The implant is placed only after you understand and agree to the confirmed treatment and price.

04

Healing at home

Healing commonly takes several months. Your dentist confirms the timing for your own case.

05

Abutment and crown

You return for the final restoration, bite checks and your implant records.

Risks and recovery

Dental implant placement is surgery. Expected short-term effects can include soreness, swelling, bruising and minor bleeding. Possible complications include infection, failure to integrate with the bone, inflammation or bone loss around the implant, and damage to nearby structures.

Your own risks and alternatives must be discussed with the treating dentist before you consent.

Looking after an implant

Implants and their crowns need daily cleaning and regular professional checks. Smoking, poor plaque control, a history of gum disease and some health conditions can increase the chance of problems.

Keep your normal dentist and hygienist at home informed, and take your implant records to future appointments.

Independent information before you decide

Read independent patient guidance as well as the information supplied with your estimate. The General Dental Council explains questions to ask before treatment abroad, while NHS hospital guidance covers healing, risks and long-term care.

Information check: public price lines and independent clinical sources checked 27 August 2026. This page has not been medically reviewed. Individual decisions remain with the treating dentist.

Dental implant questions

Does the public implant line include the crown and abutment?

The public DP Dental price list does not say that it does. Treat the implant, abutment and final crown as separate components until an itemised estimate confirms exactly what is included.

Can my price change after I arrive?

The remote review provides a personalised estimate based on the information you send. If the examination or imaging identifies something that could not be confirmed remotely, the dentist explains and prices the change before treatment begins.

How many trips will I need?

A single implant often needs two trips: one for assessment and placement, then another after healing for the abutment and crown. Your written plan confirms the visits required for your case.

How long does an implant take to heal?

Healing commonly takes several months and varies with the implant site, bone, general health and any additional treatment. Your dentist confirms when the implant is ready for its final crown.

Will I need a bone graft or sinus lift?

Not everyone does. The dentist uses the examination and imaging to assess the available bone. If another procedure is needed, it is added to the written plan and agreed with you first.

Do I still need a dentist in the UK?

Yes. Keep regular dental and hygiene appointments at home. Your implant records should be shared with any dentist who checks or treats the implant later.

Request your implant estimate

Send clear photos, a recent X-ray if you have one and any existing treatment plan to request a preliminary written estimate before deciding whether to travel.

EU Dental Tourism may receive a referral fee if a patient we introduce chooses treatment. Diagnosis, treatment, consent and clinical responsibility remain with the treating clinic and dentist.
